IN PERSON - TAN SRI P RAMLEE

The public is always right."

"Siapa makan cili, dialah yang terasa pedasnya."

On the short film 'Damaq' part of 'Ragam P Ramlee' (1965)

On the film 'Sabarudin Tukang Kasut' / 'Sabarudin The Cobbler' (1966)

On the film 'Do Re Mi' (1966)
"Apabila saya buat cerita komedi, skrip saya miskin dengan kata bual. Segala-galanya itu akan dibuat 'on the spot' (secara spontan)."

On the film 'Keluarga 69' / 'Family 69' (1967)

On the film title for 'Kanchan Tirana' (1969)

I want to make people cry even when they don't understand my words.

People say that I could sing the phone book and make it sound good.

To be successful in my native France, where people speak the same language and understand me, is nothing.

A Passion For Life

There is no time for cut-and-dried monotony.
There is time for work. And time for love.
That leaves no other time.

There are people who have money and people who are rich.

Fashion is not something that exists in dresses only. Fashion is in the sky, in the street, fashion has to do with ideas, the way we live, what is happening

The words of Michael Jackson

In a world filled with hate, we must still dare to hope. In a world filled with anger, we must still dare to comfort. In a world filled with despair, we must still dare to dream. And in a world filled with distrust, we must still dare to believe.

If you enter this world knowing you are loved and you leave this world knowing the same, then everything that happens in between can be dealt with.

I wake up from dreams and go "Wow, put this down on paper." The whole thing is strange. You hear the words, everything is right there in front of your face . .

The greatest education in the world is watching the masters at work.

I was a veteran, before I was a teenager.
I'm just like anyone. I cut and I bleed. And I embarass easily.

On The Economy

Government's view of the economy could be summed up in a few short phrases: If it moves, tax it. If it keeps moving, regulate it. And if it stops moving, subsidise it.

Ronald Reagan

The Great Depression, like most other periods of severe employment, was produced by government mismanagement rather than by any inherent instability of the private economy.

Milton Friedman

The economy depends about as much on economist as the weather does on weather forecasters.

On Public Relations

"I don't think we made any mistake. But from a public relations perspective, it wasn't properly handled."
Al Larson

"This is a very clever move, and probably more a public relations move than anything else."
Charlie Buchwalter

"It was a disaster. An absolute, total, public relations disaster.
Amy Walsh

You've got some public relations to do.
